From Martha Gallahue:
Please note there is a very interesting program about UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan airing on PBS TV at 9 p.m. (EST) on Tuesday, January 7. Check your local TV listing for the exact time and channel.

Also, the recent "Smithsonian Magazine" (January 2003), pages 32-39 has an informative article about Kofi Annan which was written by Stanley Meisler.

Kofi Annan, a Nobel peace prize winner, is widely viewed as one of the most effective secretaries-general who has made immense progress in modernizing the UN and making it a more effective and efficient organization.
